Noah Poulos is a farmer, farm consultant, writer, and educator based in western North Carolina. He is the co-owner and operator of Wild East Farm, a diversified 44-acre farm in Marion, North Carolina, where he and his wife Lyric operate a commercial farm integrating market gardening, livestock, poultry, eggs, and agroforestry.

Since starting Wild East in 2022, Noah has helped grow the farm from a newly established operation into a diversified direct-market farm generating hundreds of thousands of dollars in annual sales. The farm serves hundreds of customers each week and combines intensive vegetable production with pasture-based livestock and perennial agriculture.

Noah teaches about the practical realities of building farms that are productive, profitable, and ecologically integrated. His work focuses on farm economics, enterprise planning, labor, markets, infrastructure, whole-farm planning, and the relationship between ecological management and business viability. His teaching draws on the experience of running a commercial farm as well as training in Holistic Management.

His approach is practical and grounded in the realities of day-to-day farm operations. Rather than focusing solely on production techniques, Noah looks at how the pieces of a farm fit together: what to produce, how to sell it, how much labor it requires, what infrastructure it demands, and whether the resulting system actually works as a business.

Noah has over a decade of experience across diversified vegetable production, livestock, agroforestry, ecology, direct marketing, farm business management, forestry and land management. He brings this broad perspective to presentations and educational programs for farmers, agricultural organizations, students, and communities.

He speaks at agricultural conferences and events and teaches through presentations, workshops, farm tours, webinars, and multi-day hands-on trainings. Programs can range from focused presentations on farm economics or production systems to more comprehensive explorations of whole-farm planning and enterprise design. Content can also be tailored to the needs and experience of a particular audience.

Noah is currently writing The Real Work of Farming: Lessons From a Productive, Profitable, and Ecologically Integrated Farm, which examines the practical realities of building a farm that can support both the land and the people working it.
